A man is fighting for his life after the truck he was driving skidded down a slope into a quarry and toppled over.

The incident happened at 2pm yesterday when the 27-year-old from Manikata was driving a boulder-filled truck in Triq l-Imġarr, Mġarr.

The truck skidded and rolled backwards as he was driving up a slope to unload, police said.

As the driver climbed out of the cabin, he got caught and was dragged down with the truck before it overturned.

It kept sliding on its side until stopping in the gravel. He was helped by his colleagues until an ambulance arrived.
