I am keen in doing a course in the French language as this would help me in my work.

After checking the brochure on a website, I noted that the course I was interested in was levelled at B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).

I was advised to check on the NCFHE website the MQF level, as such a level is important for employment purposes.

However, while browsing through the register of courses given by a licensed institution on the NCFHE website, I was confused to see that the course I was interested in, the DELF J B1, was given an MQF level 2 while the German language Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD) Certificate B1 was given an MQF level 3. The same goes for courses at higher level, as the Goethe-Zertifikat certificates are given a higher MQF level than the corresponding DALF once.

One would assume that all courses at B1 level of the CERFL are given the same equivalent MQF level.

When I enquired at the NCFHE, the response was evasive. Can someone enlighten me please?
