Qormi scored three goals in the final 23 minutes of the match to overcome Vittoriosa Stars and clinch their fourth successive win.

It was an impressive fightback from the Yellow-Blacks who have now put themselves in the reckoning for the fight for promotion as they joined second-placed Mqabba on the 21-point mark.

Qormi threatened after four minutes when Chiedozie forced Magri into a fine save after four minutes.

But it was Vittoriosa who struck on eight minutes. They were awarded a free-kick and Duncan Pisani’s delivery was met by Andreas Galea who stabbed home.

Qormi responded with a Mark Barbara shot that missed the target.

After the restart, Qormi continued to see more of the ball and they finally drew level on 67 minutes when Darko Medic scored from just inside the area.

Ten minutes later Qormi went in front when from a Grech free-kick, Chiedozie’s header was kept out by Magri and from the rebound Ousmane Sidibe lashed into the net.

Qormi sealed the points on 89 minutes when substitute Noah Ojuola scored with a firm volley .
