A 31-year-old Egyptian man from Qawra was accused in court of assaulting another person and causing serious injury.

Ali Mohamed Younes Mohamed pleaded not guilty to the accusations linked to an incident that happened last Thursday in Mazzola Street, Qawra. He was arraigned under arrest and charged with possession of a pointed weapon without having the necessary licence, shouting obscenities in public and breaching the public peace by fighting.

The magistrate granted him bail against a deposit of €700 and a guarantee of €10,000.
