On behalf of many residents, I would like to thank the mayor and councillors of St Paul’s Bay for removing a number of acacia mimosa trees, situated at Qawra bus station gardens. These are legally banned because they emit a harmful and dangerous substance.

Over the years, they have caused a lot of distress to many of the local residents and visitors to the area, especially those who suffer from asthma, hay fever and other respiratory illnesses. We are now also pleased to learn that this council is turning this parcel of land into a garden with playing field and facilities for children. I am sure this will be very welcome by one and all.

Thank you again to all concerned.
