Rodmar Pulis will represent the Malta Weightlifting Association on Saturday when taking part in the Commonwealth Championships which will be staged in Cape Town, South Africa.

Pulis will take part in the 77kgs class for youths. He will be ac-companied by association head Jesmond Caruana who has just been confirmed in his post at the end of an annual general meeting.

In Cape Town, Caruana will be attending a congress for participating countries and he is expected to forward a bid by Malta to organise the next championships in 2013.

Caruana has also been chosen to conduct duties as technical officer during the Commonwealth competitions which are being held simultaneously with the African Champion­ships.
