I agree with Alfred Massa (The Sunday Times, July 10) that the Doric columns found at Tarxien cemetery should be protected. They were removed from Tarxien parish church in the 1890s and should be taken back where they belong. About two years ago I was told that if the Archbishop’s Curia does not object, they should be moved and placed in the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament in the parish church. It would be a great pity to leave these wonderful columns to the mercy of the elements.
