Atlas Insurance has recently launched a new policy specifically for individuals who have invested or are considering investing in photovoltaic panels for their homes.
“This policy is specifically designed to insure PV systems. We are offering competitive rates, with claims settlement on a ‘new for old basis’.
“This means that, in the event of a claim, no deduction will be made for wear and tear or depreciation,” says personal lines manager Marisa Polidano.
The new policy covers loss or damage to private PV systems by a number of causes, such as storms, lightning, wind, vandalism and theft, as well as impact by collapsing cranes, falling trees and poles.
Additional benefits also include debris removal cover up to 10 per cent of the sum insured, as well as liability cover of up to €500,000.
