The Film Commission is launching a marketing campaign to promote Gozo worldwide as a film location. This was announced at a public consultation meeting held in Victoria about the film industry in Gozo and about training and working opportunities in the sector. The meeting was addressed by Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis, Gozo Minister Anton Refalo and Film Commissioner Engelbert Grech.

Zammit Lewis said the industry had great potential for Malta and Gozo. The industry needed people to build film sets and to take care of props, administrators, logistics and transport coordinators, producers and directors and cameramen, among others. He added that apart from its economic and employment impact the industry also plays an important role in advertising the islands as a tourism destination.
