Nineteen Birkirkara residents benefited from a project entitled Tlett Kwarti ta’ Spazju Għalija, coordinated by the Appoġġ Birkirkara Community Service, Sedqa Prevention Services, and Santa Marija parish church, Birkirkara.
The aim of the project was to provide informal education to parents and other people who are taking care of children.
It also gave them the opportunity to discuss the various challenges they encounter during their personal lives, as well as in the upbringing of the children.
The project sessions were delivered while the children attended catechism lessons.
The themes discussed were chosen by the participants themselves, and sessions were facilitated by professionals specifically trained in these areas.
Among the topics discussed were self-awareness, communicating with children, how to spend quality time with children, conflict management and stress management.
