The Institute of Financial Services (IFS) recently organised a business visit for its members to the new state-of-the-art Progress Press premises in Mrieħel.

The IFS delegation was welcomed by Allied Group human resources manager Matthew Naudi, who gave a brief overview of Progress Press Co. Ltd., which forms part of the Allied Group, printers of The Times and The Sunday Times.

After outlining the corporate structure, Mr Naudi explained that due to technology advances, business growth, logistical requirements and physical restrictions at Allied’s historic Valletta premises, the group felt the need to move printing operations to the new, purposely-built premises in Mrieħel.

The IFS delegation was then given a tour of the premises and had the opportunity to see the new printing machinery and learn about the different printing techniques and printing processes.

IFS said the highlight of the visit was the opportunity to see where The Times and The Sunday Times are printed together with many maga-zines, books, corporate brochures and other publications.
