Stanley Portelli of Transport Malta (Managing Roadworks, June 3) replied to my question on how many people and other resources are employed on the major roadworks in Triq Garibaldi, Luqa and Xatt l-Għassara, in Marsa. On Wednesday, I passed through both sites. I believe he was quite right in saying “adequate” resources are employed for Xatt l-Għassara becausea few workmen going about their business.
As for Triq Garibaldi, Mr Portelli was very careful in not mentioning any number of workers or using the word “adequate”. For I saw just one truck, one mechanical digger and four workers on this stretch of major road.
Does Transport Malta really believe that these “resources” can complete the road on time?
