The much-needed and awaited specific funding allocated to the Aġenzija Sapport for this year’s budget – €400,000 – has been all retracted.

The consequence of this shocking decision is yet another blow to the parents/curators who are constantly concerned for their children’s future in having a home in the community where, especially persons with intellectual disability, can be offered an environment of supported independent living.

The state has chosen to non-prioritise the future of these vulnerable citizens and has ignored a waiting list of disabled persons awaiting the services of the agency. Why are politicians applying the wrong priorities, cuttin all allocated expenditure to the most needy?
