Prince Charles yesterday visited Corinthia’s flagship Victorian-era hotel in London.

Corinthia Group chairman Alfred Pisani and his wife showed the Prince of Wales around the hotel which is housed in a historic building that has been lovingly redeveloped and renovated.

The royal visit to the hotel was part of celebrations to mark the Prince’s Regeneration Trust’s 15th anniversary.

The trust – of which the Prince is president – ensures historic buildings in the UK that are at risk of decay or demolition are given new use, and the Corinthia is one of the capital’s most prominent regeneration projects in recent years.

The Pisani family opened their first hotel, the Corinthia Palace in Attard, in 1968.

Mr Pisani said: “We approached the redevelopment of our hotel in London with love, creativity and humility.

“Our own team has done a great job in making sure we executed a financially rewarding acquisition and project and put all our energies and instincts for hospitality into a structured format for the delivery of consistent, quality service.”
