Last Sunday, President George Abela and Mrs Abela visited the San Lawrenz community.

The visit started with Mass at San Lawrenz parish church, celebrated by parish priest Injazju Borg, followed by a tour of the church and a get-together at the church parvis where coffee and cheesecakes prepared by the St Lawrence Spurs Football Club were served.

At the square, Dr Abela watched a training session by the football team’s nursery, and later the Ta’ Ċangura Folk Group gave a traditional folk dance.

Later on, the President visited an exhibition, entitled ‘Talents from San Lawrenz’ at the parish centre. The items exhibited were made by members of the locality.

Dr Abela also visited ‘Dar Dun Ġużepp Cauchi’, where the ‘saintly’ priest lived. He was then presented with all the publications published to date on Dun Ġużepp by George Borg.
