Thirty Heads of State congratulated President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca on her appointment.

King Juan Carlos of Spain, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Greek President Karolos Papoulias and President of the Palestinian State, Mahmoud Abbas, were among those who wished Ms Coleiro Preca well.

She formally thanked all of them, adding she was looking forward to strengthening relations between Malta and their countries.
