President George Abela has praised the initiative of those who recently set up the Maltese Chinese Chamber of Commerce and augured that the Chamber will become the bridge between Maltese and Chinese businessmen.

During a courtesy visit to Dr Abela by the council of the Maltese Chinese Chamber, the President referred to Malta’s relations with China as very special. He recalled the courtesy, warmth and hospitality the Chinese government showed him during his visit to China last year. During the visit Maurice Mizzi, the chairman of the Maltese Chinese Chamber and Chinese Ambassador Zhang Keyuan presented a donation to the Community Chest Fund.

Reno Calleja, secretary general of the Chamber, Hugh Arrigo, treasurer, and Tony Valvo, John Rusher and Jonathan Harmsworth, Chamber members, were also present.
