With reference to my letter ‘More pigeon filth in Sliema’ (August 28), I would like to thank the local council for sending someone to power wash the pavements.

I do hope that this isn’t a one-off but that it will be taking place at least once weekly.

I’m sure that we would all be very grateful if, next time, they would also power wash the patches that they left out, especially in Don Bosco Street, when going up towards Dingli Street, and at the top of St Margaret Street corner with Melita.

I know that there is a neglected house but it’s the pavement that many of us use daily.

It would also be very much appreciated if the school perimeter is also power washed, particularly where the bin used for the dog pooh is located. I had already suggested this but, unfortunately, it never happened.
