I refer to the front page report Parts Of Energy Grid Feeling The Heat (July 13).

It is quite misleading to give readers the impression that the series of power cuts in several localities over the past few days lasted a “few hours”. The Times also quoted a nameless individual who stated his mother-in-law almost passed out when “a three-hour-long power cut affected their area”.

For the record and as a matter of fact during last week’s heatwave there were two consecutive power cuts in just over 24 hours in certain areas of Tarxien where I happen to live. They lasted for five hours on one day and a whole 10 hours the following day, that is from 2.45 p.m. to 1 a.m.
