The two BOV Premier League matches scheduled for the Hibernians Stadium yesterday, Naxxar Lions vs Balzan and Tarxien Rainbows vs Birkirkara, were re-scheduled for tomorrow due to a waterlogged pitch at the ground in Corradino.

The Malta Football Association issued a statement yesterday morning saying it was impossible for the administrators at the Hibernians Stadium to host the two matches following the heavy rain that fell the night before.

Bad weather is expected to persist but the MFA said today’s Premier League matches, two at the National Stadium and two others at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in Ħamrun, are still on.

Tomorrow, Naxxar Lions play Balzan at 6pm and champions Birkirkara face Tarxien at 8pm.

A pitch inspection at the Corradino ground will be carried out tomorrow morning before the two-match programme gets the green light to proceed.
