The marriage of Sabrina, daughter of Chev. Mohamed Busefi, OSLJ, and Muna, to Siraj, son of the late Leith Bensaud and Fozia, was recently celebrated with a reception and dinner at the Portomaso Suite of the Hilton Malta.

Distinguished guests, friends, acquaintances and business associates travelling from different parts of the world gathered in Malta to join the families in celebrating this joyous occasion.

The bride, escorted by her farther wore a classic gown by Carolina Castigliano. She was accompanied by her nieces as flower girls. The bridegroom was assisted by his good friend Arag Schembesh as best man.

Welcoming the guests, Chev. Busefi said he was very happy that Sabrina chose to have her wedding in Malta as he has lived here for many years and feels that Malta is his family’s second home. Testimony to this was the presence of their many Maltese friends, together with the Libyan community and members of the Order of St Lazarus.

Sabrina and Siraj have much in common, both being of Libyan origin, both born in London and both having spent part of their childhood in Malta.

Their engagement coincided with the beginning of the Arab Spring and destiny led Siraj to Malta, where he aided NGOs working in support of the revolution. Meanwhile, Sabrina, with her close friend from the BBC, set up a network to broadcast to the rest of the world, as they witnessed the day-to-day struggle for liberty and democracy.

While congratulating the newlyweds, best man Arag’s parting advice to Siraj were the words: “Sabrina is always right.”
