Business was down for Gozo’s tourism sector in the second quarter of this year, according to a survey, with only a fifth of respondents describing it as good but nearly half classifying it as “bad”.
The survey was carried out by the Gozo Tourism Association among hotels, self-catering establishments, restaurants, diving and transport services.
While 30 per cent qualified their business performance as “fair”, only two per cent said the performance was “very good” and 20 per cent that it was “good”. A total of 48 per cent, however, experienced a “bad” April to June period.
Just over 60 per cent of respondents said business levels were lower than in the same period last year, while 28 per cent said it was the same.
