So now we have a new theatre without a roof, a city without a gate and a Parliament in a box. But we have Renzo Piano’s signature and that should be enough. I wonder if Piano, for all his architectural prowess, would have been allowed to wreak such havoc in the centre of Florence or Venice; but Valletta, arguably the queen of fortified cities, is another matter. Poor Valletta indeed.
