I refer to the story about trials proposed for power station fuels (November 16).

I would like to ask the Malta Environment and Planing Authority’s environmental unit: Are the people of Marsaxlokk, especially young children, being evacuated if or while the trials are on in case the emissions exceed EU limits and are, therefore, unsafe? Would they subject their own children to this?

What baffles me is that these trials are even being considered when a proposed jogging track close to the Marsaxlokk football pitch, which would have been beneficial to the people of the locality, was not approved.
