Much has been said, narrated and written about the injustice and frame-up suffered by the late Pietru Pawl Busuttil.

I was watching on Net TV a past interview with him and was hit by one of his heartfelt comments. He said: “Do not think that I was the only person who suffered injustices. There are others who suffered in silence and their problems died with them.”

Unfortunately, my father was one of them. In 2009, he was politically victimised and blackmailed so he would review a lease for a catering establishment, which used to employ about 35 people for 30 years.

My father stood firm and did not give in. His health then went from bad to worse because of the financial problems forced on him.

May both Busuttil and my loving dad rest in peace. And may God have mercy on all scoundrels.
