The police force has been equipped with €1.22 million-worth of new vehicles and sea vessels.

This investment was co-financed by the EU External Borders Fund and includes 22 Ford Focus saloons, which will replace the Mobile Squad’s fleet.

Officers also received 12 escorting Ford Focus saloons, two panel vans, four Administrative Law Enforcement and SAG Land Rovers, two floodlight trucks and two inshore patrol dinghies.

Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici, who announced the investment yesterday morning, said most of the police’s work was done in silence and Malta needed a well-equipped force to fight off criminality.
