An urgent and dynamic play that challenges audiences of all ages in dealing with feminism, sexuality and cyberbullying is Masquerade’s upcoming production at Blue Box.

Directed by Polly March, Evan Placey’s Girls Like That is a play about girls, boys, feminism, friendship, running with the pack, self-image and online sharing.

When a naked picture of Scarlett gets sent around the school in a matter of minutes, the fallout reveals the underlying social dynamic as her peer group reacts to the incident. As the girls, previously her close friends, distance themselves from Scarlett, their own vulnerabilities and anxieties about self-image and sexuality are exposed.

The cast is made up of 18 girls.

■  Girls Like That is running over two weekends starting this Friday and Saturday and continuing on September 30, October 1 and 2. Performances start at 8pm at Blue Box Theatre, M Space, Msida. The play is targeted at those aged 13 and over. Tickets may be bought online from www.bluebox.com.mt or alternatively call 7979 3737 or 2124 6619.
