The president of Italy’s public broadcaster, RAI, has praised Malta for the “excellent organisation” of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

In a letter to PBS chairman Tonio Portughese, RAI president Anna Maria Tarantola congratulated PBS for its initiative to nurture twinning activities between the foreign singers and various local schools and the vision to transform the event into a feast and celebration for European children.

Next month, Mr Portughese will deliver a presentation in Rome addressing the impact of the Mediterranean on public service media providers.
