They came out of nowhere with a bang, their 2012 debut single It’s Gonna be OK commanding a presence on the local airwaves that persists to this day. They are Planet Seed and, despite the fact their first release remains a local radio favourite, the band has gone ahead with its plans and released its second single.

In contrast to the pumping pop-rock of the debut, Want You to Know is a slower number that reveals another side to the band’s music. Evidently subtler in mood and pace, the song has a defined electronic timbre and reflects a more mature edge in terms of song-writing.

It may not have the immediacy of its predecessor, but its lingering melody has already sunk in with local audiences, to the point that it currently holds the top position in our Bmat PRS Radio Airplay Chart.

Meanwhile, the band is working on more material ahead of its debut EP release, which is scheduled for November this year.

Planet Seed will also be performing in various venues around Malta this summer, including a support slot with Ira Losco at the Beland Music Festival on May 11 in aid of Puttinu Cares.

Planet Seed are Klinsmann Coliero (vocals, guitar), Stefan Farrugia (lead guitar), Liam Spiteri (bass), Chris Galea (drums) and Etienne Scicluna (keyboards).
