Two separate events featuring people pulling planes are taking place over the next few days. The first event raising money for Puttinu Cares will take place tomorrow at the Safi Aviation Park (Gate 8) from 10.30am to 4pm. This will consist of a timed challenge to pull a 60-ton DHL Express Boeing 757-200 Freighter aircraft a distance of 20 metres and back.

Teams of 35 to 40 individuals will attempt this feat, with each participant donating €10 to the Puttinu Cares Foundation. Smaller groups will be joined together. Pulling of the plane is restricted to those aged 18 and over.

■ This event is being organised by DHL Express in association with the Phoenix Sports Club. The participation form can be downloaded from the Facebook page Plane Pull Malta and should be filled in and brought along on the day. Alternatively, a preferred time slot may be booked in advance by sending the form to info@psc.com.mt.

The second plane-pulling event takes place over the weekend during the Malta International Air Show. The location this time is Park 4 of the Malta International Airport, with the activity being held between 10am and 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday. A €10 donation to Hospice Malta will be collected, €5 for those aged 14 and under.

■  This event is being organised in collaboration with the Malta Aviation Society. For more information, call 2144 0085 or send an e-mail to fr@hospicemalta.org.

Strongman Tony Farrugia will attempt solo pulls during both events, tomorrow at 3.30pm and on Sunday at 2.45pm.
