Now that roadworks in Victoria seem to have been completed, it would be highly appreciated if the 20-metre stretch of road that links Victoria to Wied Żejta and to Xagħra is given a good layer of tarmac.

This road was used extensively during the long months when Republic Street was closed to traffic and now the potholes on this road look very much like lunar craters.

The initial part of the road (off Europa Street and onto the valley) clearly falls under the responsibility of Victoria council.

A sign, ‘Welcome to Xagħra’ demarcates the road and shows which local council should be undertaking maintenance work on this part of the road.

Every street around this road was asphalted and now it is high time that the same is done for this small stretch of road. It is useless patching up the potholes with cold tarmac, only to be unearthed within a week.

I expect the Victoria council to take action.
