Valletta Subbuteo Club player Jason Pisani has just returned from the Grand Prix of Birmingham with the veterans title in his bag.

A total of 30 players contested the competition in the UK tournament.

Pisani qualified from the group stages after beating Tony McCann, Brian Kindrade and Allan Cook to book his place in the quarter-finals.

After beating Dave Russell 1-0, Pisani again scored the only goal of the match during his semi-final against Mike Parnaby to set up a decisive clash with Daniel Sheen.

The final match was tight but Pisani did well to beat the Englishman 3-2 for the prestigious veterans title.

Two other Valletta SC players took part in the Open in Birmingham – Matt Lampitt and Chris Thomas.

Both finished top of their respective qualifying groups but in the quarter-finals, Limpitt lost 3-1 to Kasper Bennett.

Thomas made it all the way to the final where he lost 2-0 to Bennett.
