Five men, who have been affected by breast cancer, talk to Pink magazine about what it feels like to have a family member suffer from the disease and how they plan to embark on a challenge to raise awareness.

Opening up about their scarring experience when cancer hit home, these men have decided to climb a mountain – an initiative called Make a Pink Difference – to raise funds for related organisations.

They are joined in the article by the daughters of cancer patients and survivors who describe what they felt when they first learnt the shocking news about their mothers’ illness, how they overcame the hurdles and have moved on today.

The subject of breast cancer is carried on in the psychology section of the magazine, which delves into how women deal with a mastectomy and consequent blighted body image from the mentaland emotional points of view.

Still on the subject, Pink follows a group of people who are walking a distance of 800 kilometres, split between both Malta and Spain, to raise funds for the Puttinu Cares Foundation , a support group for child cancer patients.

In the July issue, out with Times of Malta tomorrow, fashion takes on a pink tinge, while those who want to boost their wardrobes, without breaking the bank, can read about an upcoming clothes swap that will see women exchanging items for a good cause – while sprucing up an already bursting closet without the guilt pangs.

Pink is a monthly magazine, published by Allied Newspapers Ltd, printed by Progress Press and produced by Mediamaker.
