In the run-up to Christmas a number of trees were planted by Form 3 students of Savio College at the college – a ‘present’ from Mapfre Middlesea for the festive season.

“This noble gesture will not only serve to educate our students at the college but will also contribute to embellishing the landscape and giving much needed lungs to our country,” Fr Jeremy Dalli, coordinator at the Salesians, said.

“Christmas is a time of giving and sharing – and this year we wanted to share this with the boys at Savio College. It is our way of giving back,” Mapfre Middlesea CEO Felipe Navarro said.

This initiative forms part of the company’s CSR programme of events, through which it works with a number of entities and NGOs to improve the standard of living of the community. In the past year, the company has worked with Nature Trust, Appoġġ, the Blood Transfusion Bank, Inspire Foundation and the Pink October movement.
