My husband and I recently returned from a pilgrimage to Lourdes.

This wonderful experience, which took place between July 29 and September 4, was organised by many kind volunteers and especially by dedicated helpers from the Renal Unit of Mater Dei Hospital.

Unfortunately, vital equipment needed for renal patients was inadvertently sent to Paris instead of Lourdes.

I would like to thank wholeheartedly nurse Josette Parnis from the Renal Unit who left no stone unturned to procure this equipment so necessary for patients, including my husband.

My special thanks and gratitude also go to nurse Christianne Imbroll and nurse Alan Sciberras who were assigned to take special care of my husband.

Regrettably, this trip was marred at the end because of very long delays in disembarking wheelchair-bound patients. I hope that some system will be found to avoid a repetition of this in the future.
