I do not know to which authority or government department I have to address this letter so I am sending it to The Times in the hope that the persons responsible would stand up and take action.

I am complaining about the disgusting situation prevalent in the former Pietà car park, which has been turned into a rubbish dump by irresponsible persons.

There, one can see unwanted and broken furniture, construction waste, white goods and bags and boxes of rubbish. Recently, even a large tree branch was abandoned there.

This is disgraceful because people walk through the car park to their homes.

What is worse is that the place is littered with used syringes, which drug addicts throw everywhere after they have had their fix. (The place is notorious for being frequented by drug addicts.)

At night, the place is in pitch darkness. There isn’t even a single light bulb and this is conducive to many abuses and also possible serious accidents.

The families who have to go through the car park to reach their residences at the end are terrified of crossing it at night and, especially, in pitch darkness in winter. They are afraid of being assaulted by criminals and having to cross the place in all that filth, darkness and danger.
