I am on holiday in Malta and, on July 28, I went to Valetta for the day with my family.
At about 1pm, I was waiting for them, in the street near Bank of Valletta, while they were shopping. I was temporarily distracted by two women and a man and, soon afterwards, when I attempted to use my wallet, I discovered that it was missing from my pocket.
I lost a substantial amount of my holiday money, my bank cards and my driving licence.
I reported this to the police, immediately cancelled my bank cards which, fortunately, had not been used, and have reported the loss of my driving licence, which I won’t be able to renew until I return home.
As I had used my wallet a short time before this, my son-in-law phoned the relevant shop but no wallet had been found there.
I can only assume that I was targeted by pickpockets.
