Pianist Tricia Dawn Williams will present a programme of 20th-century and contemporary works by composers from Hungary, the US, France and Malta at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity, Valletta, on Saturday at 8pm.
Since 1999 Williams has been under the guidance of Pawlu Grech. Her repertoire ranges from Béla Bartók to today’s modern composers. Over the years she has organised and taken part in several recitals and interdisciplinary projects, collaborating with local and other contemporary composers worldwide.
The programme will open with Ideograms Book 1 by Grech, followed by Four Dirges by Bartók. From Hungary the music shifts to America with a recent composition written for Williams by Scott McAllister, Salt of the Earth, the Sea and of Me.
The evening will also feature Fantasy II from Four Piano Pieces by Bartók and Suite Caféinée by Pierre-Adrien Charpy.
Entrance is free and tickets need not be booked.
