The Maltapost Philatelic Bureau will today issue a commemor-ative set of 20 stamps titled Malta Buses – The End Of An Era, marking the withdrawal of the iconic buses from service.

The stamps are reproductions of original works by artist Cedric Galea Pirotta who was commissioned to paint 20 of the most popular buses covering the main routes throughout Malta and Gozo, each in its original route livery.

These include Birkirkara, Gozo, Mellieħa, Mosta, Rabat, Siġġiewi, Sliema, Żabbar and Żurrieq. Three other buses also included in the commemorative set are those for private hire, the Gozo mail bus and the Magirus Deutz, representing all routes.

All stamps, offset printed on Maltese Cross watermarked paper, are available in two sheets of 10 different stamps each bearing a denomination of 20c and 69c.

This set is available from all post offices and the mobile post office.
