Kevin Tanti in his letter (September 3) voices his satisfaction regarding the treatment of animals by Virtu Ferries and declares that he is allowed to visit his dogs during crossings. This does not do credit to Virtu Ferries.

Why is it that Tanti is allowed to go down to the garage when the catamaran is on the open seas and other worried pet owners are not allowed to do so? So can it be that the so-called unbreakable rules of the company can be broken when the powers that be decide it is fit to do so?
