The fuel gauge is not playing up if the usual €10 has not pushed it high enough... petrol is up by 5c a litre.

But diesel has dropped by 3c. Enemalta yesterday said the new petrol price was based on a consignment bought in July when international prices rose almost eight per cent.

Petrol is now €1.49 per litre. Only last month, the price had fallen by 6c.

Diesel now retails at €1.35 per litre. Kerosene also experienced a drop of 3c per litre.
