Veterinarians and clinics have teamed up for a common cause – to boost pet obesity risk awareness.

The main aim of the campaign, run by Royal Canin and supported by Animal Rights Parliamentary Secretary Roderick Galdes, is to educate pet owners about the importance of maintaining their cats’ and dogs’ healthy weight through the right nutrition and exercise. This is important to prevent serious issues that could lead to respiratory problems, heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer.

Royal Canin representatives Borg Cardona & Co. Ltd will be launching a competition for pet owners, giving them the chance to win a night’s stay with their dog at the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard.

More details can be obtained by e-mailing competitions@borg-cardona.com, calling 2141 4753 or by finding #royalcaninobesitymonth on Facebook.
