The changes in social services announced in the Budget 2012 affecting the widows’, disability, old age and retirement pensions would come into effect on January 7, the Social Policy Ministry said.

It said the increase would be included in the January 28 pension and cover the period January 28 to February 24. The cost-of-living-allowance bonus and the pension increase due for those in receipt of the services pension will also be issued on January 28.

The increase in the old age pension will be included in the January 14 handout and cover the period January 14 to February 10. The cost-of-living-allowance bonus will also be issued on January 14.

The rise in the invalidity pension will be given with the January 7 pension covering the period January 7 to February 3. The cost-of-living bonus and the increase in the services pension will also be issued with the January 7 pension.

The addition to the retirement pension will be given with the January 21 handout and will cover the period January 21 to February 17.
