Enmy Manuel Beltre, of St Andrew’s, was yesterday handed a two-match ban by the Malta FA Disciplinary Commissioner following his red card in a BOV Premier League match last weekend.

Beltre, 24, was dismissed midway through the second half of the clash against Birkirkara following an altercation with opponent Ryan Scicluna who also got sent off.

Midfielder Beltre will have to skip the Saints’ next two matches against Floriana and Tarxien Rainbows.

Scicluna, meanwhile, was among eight other players from the top flight to receive a one-match ban yesterday.

The others are Pembroke Athleta duo Owen Bugeja and Brooke Farrugia, Ryan Fenech (Balzan), Moises Avila Perez (Gżira United), Denni Rocha dos Santos (Sliema Wanderers), Alex Alves (Tarxien Rainbows) and Steve Borg (Valletta).
