The Don Bosco Oratory of Victoria will present a new musical in Maltese about the mystic life of St Pio of Pietrelcina at the oratory on Saturday at 7.30 p.m., on October 16 at 2.30 p.m. (matinee show) and on October 22 at 7.30 p.m.

Patri Piju – the musical is based on the writings of the saint as well as on witnesses’ stories given during the canonisation process of Padre Pio.

The two-hour musical, by Carlo Tedeschi, was translated intoMaltese by Fr Effie Masini.

Musical direction is by Mario Caruana and Christine Camilleri, while stage direction is by Saviour Cremona.

A cast of over 100 actors, including singers and dancers, will be taking part.

Playing the main parts are Mark Laurence Zammit, Ruth Portelli, Mario Caruana, Jamie Camilleri, Fabian Galea, Analise Xerri and George Sacco.
