The number of passengers passing through the airport in August reached an all-time high of 461,153, breaking the record achieved just one month before.

The increase is of more than 33,000, or 7.9 per cent, over the same month last year, Malta International Airport said.

Seat capacity has also hit a record of 536,632 – a jump of 7.5 per cent. Aircraft movements rose by 6.6 per cent.

Between January and August, passenger movements increased by 3.7 per cent when compared to the same period last year, amounting to 2.4 million.
