A passenger involved in a traffic accident in Valletta on Friday evening is no longer critical, police said.

Four were injured in an accident in Great Siege Road, Valletta, after a head-on collision between a Maruti driven by a 33-year-old man from Pietà and a Honda Civic driven by a 59-year-old man from Valletta.

A 64-year-old man who was a passenger in the Maruti was initially fighting for his life but police said yesterday his condition had improved. Another passenger, an 18-year-old man from Birkirkara, was slightly injured.

The Honda driver was accompanied by a 54-year-old woman, also from Valletta, who suffered serious injuries. A parked Hyundai Accent was also damaged.

Earlier on Friday a man from Mġarr was injured in a traffic accident in the village itself.
