Parma coach Roberto Donadoni insisted yesterday that striker Antonio Cassano and midfielder Marco Parolo will not leave the club this month.
Cassano, 31, has been strongly linked with a return to Sampdoria, a club he played for four years before joining Milan in 2010.
The 28-year-old Parolo, meanwhile, has attracted the attention of top Serie A clubs having scored six goals in 18 league appearances for Parma this season.
“Antonio will not move from Parma,” Donadoni told Italian TV station Rai Sport.
“It is not our intention to sell him.
“Marco has done very well in the first half of the season. He has scored six goals from midfield. He could do more, but it’s okay. It’s normal that the big clubs are interested in him.”
Cassano has found the back of the net six times in 17 league appearances for Parma so far.
Elsewhere, Palermo have completed the signing of midfielder Enzo Maresca from Sampdoria, the Serie B side confirmed yesterday.
The Italian playmaker has joined the Sicilian outfit on a permanent transfer and has signed a contract until June 2015.
The 33-year-old, who made just three appearances for Sampdoria this season, said: “I’m here to give my contribution and help Palermo gain promotion to Italy’s top flight.
“I’m going to work hard and I hope this new adventure goes well for me. Palermo are doing very well and we have to continue.”
At present, Palermo lead the Serie B standings with a one-point advantage over Empoli after 21 games played.
