This morning (February 1), I was compelled to park in the extended parking lot at the former parade ground in Floriana. From the comfort of a booth, the parker was asking drivers for €2 on entering the parking lot. Apart from the fact that no one was given a receipt, the parker was already gone by 1pm and the booth was padlocked.

Walking towards Valletta I counted some 300 parked cars and, assuming that only these cars accessed the parking lot on the day (a very conservative number), that would work out at €600 daily and no tax! I would like to ask Transport Malta whether the parker can ask for €2 for every car and whether he should issue an official VAT receipt.
