Two paramedics testified yesterday that Michael Jackson appeared already dead when they got to his LA home, closing out the first week of his doctor’s long-awaited manslaughter trial.

The accounts added to those of a string of witnesses about the “panicked” efforts to save the King of Pop’s life two years ago – and his doctor Conrad Murray’s alleged efforts to cover his tracks.

The trial resumed for a fourth day with a witness from a company which makes medical devices, including the oxygen-level and heart-rate monitor used on Jackson, testifying before the paramedics.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedic Richard Senneff said he had responded to the 911 call at Michael Jackson’s home on the day of the singer’s death and he told the court that things “did not seem normal” when he arrived at the scene.

Meanwhile, defence attorney Edward Chernoff questioned Robert Russell, a former patient of Conrad Murray. Mr Russell testified that he felt desperate, frustrated and abandoned when Dr Murray failed to keep crucial appointments about his heart condition around the time of Michael Jackson’s in June 2009.

On Thursday, a former bodyguard told how Dr Murray scrambled to hide equipment, including a “milky white” liquid near the star’s bed, minutes after he died at his rented Los Angeles mansion on June 25, 2009.

Amid frantic efforts to save Jackson’s life, the pop star’s daughter Paris screamed “Daddy!” as she saw Dr Murray pumping the chest of her father, whose eyes were open but who appeared to have already died.
